Would an MRI always show a pinched nerve?
I have been told by both my primary MD and a physical therapist that I most likely have nerve compression in the neck causing pinkie numbness. My neurologist, who treats me for cervival dystonia (which also happens to cause neck pain and pulling) ordered an EMG and an MRI, which showed nothing significant. Is it common to have a pinched nerve and it not show in an MRI or EMG or is that exceptionally rare and not very likely?
