Was it a Stroke??
Almost 2 years ago, I woke up one morning, turned my head to look at the clock, and I sort of felt a "pop" in my head, and suddenly, I was dizzy.
I was so dizzy, I could barely even move my feet without feeling like vomiting!
So dizzy, I stumbled around trying to keep my balance. As I walked down the steps, it felt like my eyes were "bouncing" up and down. My vision went up and down with each step.
Everything else on my body, was fine. No numbness, tingling, slurred speech, etc. I was just REALLY dizzy.
(I've actually always had dizziness problems, and don't know why.)
I relaxed for a day, then 2 days later, was my Son's birthday party, and I had to function, which I did, quite fine, despite still being dizzy. It was getting better everyday, though. Less and less.
I still felt slightly dizzy about 2 weeks later, when I started reading about ear problems, etc....I tried a manuever I learned online: laying on a table, with my head tilted off the end, then turning my body to the side, and leaning that way for a minute, then slowly sitting up....something to do with "stuff" that gets stuck in your ears. I forget what it was called.
But a few days later, either because my original dizziness finally went away, OR because that manuever worked....I finally felt better.
I've been sooooooooo afraid of that episode ever happening again. It was completely HORRIBLE. Dizziness is the WORST feeling!!
Oh, probably important here, I have cracked my own neck MANY times daily, since I was in about 5th grade. I grab my chin and pull hard to each side, and crack it all the time. It's a habit, I can't stop.
I used to crack my back all the time, too. Now, mostly, it's my fingers, which also started in 5th grade.
But just today, I read about strokes, and how they can be caused by cracking your neck at the chiropractor, so it got me really scared, and wondering if I've been dodging a bullet all these years. (about 25 years!)
And I'm wondering if I've ruined my neck arteries. I was told once, in my teens, that my neck had the most flexibility the chiropractor had ever seen!
I guess from pulling it so far to the side all the time, to crack it.
I still sometimes struggle with occasional dizziness. I don't know if it's an ear problem, or sinus problem, etc...
But I seem to get dizzy when I lean back in my computer chair, relaxing while I surf or type. I hate sitting up straight, but that's the only thing that makes me not feel that vague dizziness.
When I'm away from my computer for days, I feel great.
So basically, I'm wondering if that episode of severe dizziness could have been a stroke, or TIA. I never thought of that, but a symptom would be dizziness.
I can't stop cracking my neck. It feels stiff, and I feel anxious to crack it if I try to stop. It's an addiction. Same with my fingers, wrists, and elbows. Daily. Probably hundreds of times daily.
But am I going to give myself a stroke??
I'm about 20 pounds overweight, I have low low blood pressure (I don't understand why, since I'm overweight, and I eat plenty of bad foods, and I'm very unfit.) (the usual reading is 110/70, but last summer I started reading 100/60 for some reason!? I'm back to the usual reading now, though.)
My Grandmother, who lived to 96, had several strokes when she was old.
He son, my uncle, is on blood thinners for some reason, and I am the spitting image, inside and out of my grandmother.
Ok, what do you think?
Thank you so much,
Jenna

Oh, and sometimes, when I stand up from sitting down, I get a strange throbbing sensation, sort of short, painful throbs, in the sides of my neck, while feeling a slight "faint" feeling. It all goes away in about 10 seconds.
This happens on and off, a few times a year.
Just in case it could be related...?
I don't mean to sound crazy...I just wonder how many of these strange sensations, and things that happen in my body daily, are normal things, that everyone feels, and I should just deal with them like everyone else does!
