VEEG report

I have a record of the VEEG I had last month. I just saw my neuro last week & basically said he doesn't like what he saw on the report. He merely said it was a lot of activity on all of the left side where the prior AVM, anuerysm & something else (cavenoma maybe) was removed. Found that out when I got the 13 yr. old copy of the surgery. Also the 2nd surgeon didn't go way back because of the possible paralisis. 2 metal clips had been put in my skull, it only looks like one, they could be back to back. Keep in mind the current neuro just said it was not good, should go back to where the surgery had been done & might want a second opinion. See me in 2 months. And you should inform your family.

This copy was received via me, not him. I wonder how much longer he was waiting to inform me.

Dictation: The interictal recording showed an alpha rythm of 9 Hz over the left temporal head region. Prominant spikes were present over the left mid temporal electrode. The spike activity waxed & waned in frequency & @ times there was quasi periodic 1 Hz spike activity over the left temp head region. In addition, there were frequent long electrographic seizures that sometimes went on for 10-60 min.
Through out the recording there were push button events. (they give day & time, but total in 3 day VEEG was 18.) During all these episodes the patient was fully awake & alert w/o any alter mentation, however, she was clearly reaching over to right arm & describing sensory phenomenon.

Summary of Findings:
1. Spikes, frequent, left temporal.
2. Intermittent polymorphic delta, left temporal.
3. Epilepsy partialis conyinual.

Clinical Interprentation: This is clearly an abnomal video EEG study w/ continuos polymorphic delta & spikes over the left temp. head region. In addition, there was electrographic seizure activity consisten w/ epilepsy partialis continual activity over the left temporal head region w/ some spread to the parasagittal. There was no altered mentation, but the patient did have sensory phenomenon. Further clinic correlation is advised.

Please keep in mind I had a seizure a month prior to the VEEG. I had a hot feeling down my right face & rt head. Nothing was found on the ER, EEG @ that time although I basically had the Todd's syndrome again although minor. Nothing was found on the CT & blood work but apparently the ER Dr. said something was not right. I was held for 4 days & between the word "stroke" & the way I felt I thought it was, until I insisted on a 2nd CT scan which came out clean. The seizure activity continude until I saw my family Dr. & realized it indeed was still going on.
A small amount of that 1 obvious seizure during the VEEG is lost in my mermory. The RN classified it as "violent activity".
I made it a point to restrain myself 3 days prior to the VEEG of sleep, ativan & a full dose of dilantin. I hope to think that was why the VEEG "rocked & rolled" so much.

My neuro only saw the report because I showed up for an appt. which had been set in January. His daily quick report during the VEEG was "small auras". I'm hoping for an honest straight up opinion on what I am looking @ in the future.

Thanks!!
