Thigh Lump
I was in a car accident several years ago and injured my left thigh. I was sitting sideways in the back seat behind the driver (of a small 2 door car) when she lost control of the car and hit a utility pole. When she hit the pole the top half of her seat flew forward (as did I) and my thigh got pinched between the top half of her seat and the bottom. I could not move for the first 30 minutes after the wreck, heck I could not feel my leg at all! Then the pain hit & it was unreal. I finally got out and limped to the curb and sat there until my mother came to get me. The next morning I got up and OMG I could hardly walk and the lump on my thigh was huge, by days end I had a bruise from my butt to below my knee that covered 3/4 of my thigh, it was gross. Sad part is that I never went to the doctor to have it looked at.
But as the years went by it never bothered me (pain wise). Now several years later I still have the massive lump and now I am having what my doctor calls "pitted edema" in that leg and they can't figure out why or what is causing the massive swelling. So, they put me on Lasix and Potassium as needed for swelling. I have also noticed that I can't sit for too long because then my thigh starts to really hurt and I have to get up and move around. Sometimes that helps other times it doesn't. I did mention the huge bulge (like you can miss it) to my physician but he made me feel as if that has nothing to do with what is going on and more or less blew it off. So, he sent me to a heart specialist saying that may be what is causing the swelling, but after a long day of tests the specialist told me that my heart is very healthy and nothing wrong with it.
Soooo, what is wrong with me and why is it only on my left side and why has the massive lump not ever gone away? And why is it starting to hurt after all these years??
