Sudden Jolt
I am a 53 year old caucasian male with a 10+ year history of an unnamed neurological illness somewhat like Parkinson's but not PD.
This past Sunday while at Blockbuster with my wife I experienced a serve shock type jolt to the right side of my body, right foot up to the right side of my head. The jolt was so severe that had not my wife been at my side the jolt would have knocked me down. The painful effects of the jolt lasted approximately 6 hours. I have experienced such jolts before and since but none to the degree encountered Sunday. We are very concerned.
All comments welcomed.

Hi, thanks for your question. From your description alone I cannot make any diagnosis suggestions. An understanding of your medical history and a physical (neuro) examination is required. Exactly what you describe is not something I am familiar with, although I have seen some jolt-like symptoms that occur with some diseases such as spinal cord compression and epilepsy. I recommend visiting the doctor and discussing this symptom.
