spinal osteoarthritus?

Hello and thank you for letting me ask questions and be a member here.

I am 32 yrs old. Family history of bone cancer, lymphoma - non hodgkins, prostate cancer, lung cancer, and throat cancer, brain tumors as well.
I am a smoker.. I smoke about a half pack a day.. usually, cutting way back as now its becoming more of habit than a practice. I drink maybe 5 drinks a year of alcohol related substances, I have A.D.D., I have 4 living children, lost 3 babies at 7 weeks, 9 weeks and 14 weeks. almost lost one of my birth babies due to my progestrine levels being low (assume that was my problem with 2losses before, had went to a high risk doctor after the 3 losses) One baby was attatched outside of the womb. I almost died with that one.
I have had my gallbladder removed, been diagnosed A.D.D. and I also have PKD. I have been diagnosed with osteoathritus (spinal).

I hope I did this right by telling you my medical history first.

Three weeks ago, I came home from a trip 40 miles away from here feeling exhausted, aching all over and flu like symptoms. I sipped thera flu and went to bed. The next day I woke up sore in my back as if some one had played hard heavy metal piano on my spine.. all the way up and down ached.
Driving ached me, not only that but my focus began being unstable in spirts.. I would loose focus as it would become blurry. My husband drove me to our to a walk in clinic as our family doctor was closed at that time and he had taken off for lunch break from his job to take me.. anyways, the clinic was worried, for one, they noticed increased swelling as I explained the tingle factors in my finger tips, my spine aching and my neck had became stiff and very tender at the same time to touch.. my shoulder felt as if it was out of socket and my arm cast vibrating sensations. Being it was a clinic they felt it was more of an emergency situation and that they could not do for me what the ER could do so they sent me to our local ER. Once at the ER the doctor ordered CBC testing and my white blood cells were elevated. For some reason he gave me a cough syrup called ZYMINE HC and explained that it was for the flu like symtoms even tho I did not have a cough, it would help. He also gave me a precription of amoxocillan and a shot of decadron and sent me home.

As I woke the next morning, the pains did not go away, nor the symptoms. If anything, they had worsen. I took my meds for 2 more days and then went to a chiropractor as the aching in my neck had severed and my arm too.. my foot began to tingle and my legs would get a jittery sensation if I sat for even 5 minutes. Once at the chiropractor, he evaluated me and put a probe device behind my ear and clicked it. I couldnt believe what lil difference this made but it did ease a small portion of the pains and even at that, I felt some relieved and thankful. Not even 4 hours later I was in the same pain. I returned the following day and he kept asking if I had been in a car wreck. He xrayed my neck, I could see on the xray the off balance he showed me even after he had probed me the day before. He stated that he needed to go further up and he also had pointed out C1 as being almost completely deterated. C2 had began to as well. I noticed as he pointed this out that my right side of my skull looked thinner and could tell where the thinning began.. and not only that but it had some curving, my right jaw plate was also shaped a lot different than the perfect shape of the left. He did not mention it to me, but it was very visable.
After he probed me that day, and I was on my last dose of the cough syrup, I found myself feeling good enough to do laundry again.. however I tired soo quickly and just lifting the clothes out of the washer wore me out and ached me in the back and arm and neck.
I followed up with our Family doctor the next day. She wants to do a MRI but knew that I was self pay. I started prednisone and Soma for sleep aid. Soma or the prednisone made me have some kinda she woman powers. I thought I was cured to be rather honest as I had became rather chattery and fast.
I woke up the following day after being up most of the night wide eyed with the worst pains as of to that day. Not sleeping well reacted, the feeling that it was ok to do the things I hadnt as far as cleaning my house in the manor I saw fit rather that what I could do and leave the rest.. I sure paid for that one.. so I decided yesterday not to take the prednisone because the swelling was way worse and honestly my feet didnt know if it was a warming cooling situation or not.

. I became very scared of the ringing in my ears that started occuring tonit.. my feet and whole body is swollen.. Ive been disoriented today worse than the past few days.. my shoulder and right rib cage is soo sore and tender as well. I can feel the hot and cold situation.. I feel soo dizzy and just not really with it. I keep loosing focus worse and worse. Ive had to get up and down from here because it hurts to sit.. in getting up, I lost track of what I was doing here.. but when I remember to come back, its not been a minute till my whole left side is going numb but painful, tingles but coldness too in feet and hand and arm.. when I laid down to sleep, I got the worse buzzing sounds in my ear and they felt like they were packed with something.. I began breathing slower and it scared me.. when I got back up.. I noticed that my balance walking even is off.. has been off tho but tonite its not even just ok..
I also had a nose bleed which I ve only had one of those by natural and it was sinus infection last year. I dont understand what is going on in my body as for what I researched on Spinal Osteo , but I dont know at this point if thats all that is going on. What do you suggest and which step do I take next? I am stopping this typing now because I am just aching and numbness and disoriented too much. PLEASE HELP ME. My kids are who I worry for and the sooner I find out for sure.. the better for them as well.. and if its something genetic, I would like to know so I can be more or less tolerant.

Welcome to the forum brandlym,

I'm very sorry you have so many symptoms and feeling so awful. Your symptoms are very numerous and could be associated to many different disease processes. By the diagnosis of PKD do you mean Polycysic Kidney Disease???? I think a good place to start is with your family physician, he/she knows your medical history and what conditions need to be monitored. Its also important that you take medications as your Dr. has ordered, by stopping some meds with out weaning you can have unwanted side effects. Your Dr. should know anytime you decide to change your own treament once they have prescibed for you. Talk with your Dr. and see what further testing you can have done or treatments that may be beneficial to you. He can aIso treat you for osteoarthritis. If you are self pay try to apply for assistance with your medical expenses or ask your Dr. if you can make payments.
