right side tingling and hear palpations
Hi,
I'm a 47 year old female 135 lbs. back in 2002 I had surgery to remove a benign tumor on my right side due to cholesteatoma.
Over the last few years I've head right sided head pain where it feels like a knife being shoveled into my forehead, temple, above ear, top of head and back of head, and mastoid. I had asked my family doctor if he could send me to a neurologist, which I go on May 28 to see for the first time.
Approximately 3.5 weeks ago I had gotten bitten by a bug during the night, which left a small area on my ankle where I pulled it off...no I don't know what type of bug it was....I got up the next morning was had right side tingling in my arm and leg. I got into see my family doctor who felt I had a sinus infection and prescribed Cipro 500 X2 a day for 7 days. In the meantime I went to see my RMT who felt it must be a pinched nerve, after a couple of appointments I felt I should see my chiropractor, he took a cervical x-ray and feels that the tingling is due to a compressed nerve because the xray showed I have degenerative disk disease. The chiropractor has started me on low level laser therapy along with me going to the RMT for massage. The tingling comes and goes but stays more then it leaves. Then over the weekend I started getting the tingling into the right side of my face and down along my neck. I ended up going to ER, the Dr. there thought I may have had the DDD like my chiropractor said but wanted to do a CT scan just to rule out any other possibilites, I had the CT yesterday, the ER Dr. was a different dr. who felt I have a sinus infection again and gave me a script for Cipro 500 x2 for 10 days, he felt 7 days was not enough time for the drug to work. The results of the CT Scan showed the surgery area in the mastoid from the cholesteatoma, no- one had bothered to ask me if I had surgery on my head before the CT scan so it no has to be re-read, from the other results of the CT scan the ER doctor felt nothing was found but said the neurologist I'm seeing at the end of the month should send me MRI. I told him I woke up on Wednesday morning and had heart palpatations and I've had then ever since. He did a EKG was normal but ordered a holter monitor for 48 hours which I have on now.
Can a sinus infection cause all this tingling on my right side?
Thanks,
