Raccoon eyes - Seizure induced

Can you please tell me the significance of 'raccoon eyes' in seizure activity? My 30-year-old son has recently been diagnoised with eplilepsy although there is some dispute over that diagnosis.

Recently, he had a witnessed seizure (grand mal) in which his eye socket areas turned very white (as if he had been wearing sunglasses and the rest of his face was tanned) minutes prior to the seizure. After the seizure, this area then displayed brusing. I have done some reading on the bruising aspect but I have not seen any writing on the white area prior to a seizure. Can this be significant?

The dispute over the diagnosis centers on other factors which include acetone breath (no evidence of diabetic ketoacidosis), suspected sleep apnea and breathing irregularities (mini hyperventilations) during wake times.

This is my first time posting so thank you in advance for any insight that you may offer.
