pressure below right rib cage

Hi,

Last Tuesday night I sat down to dinner and halfway through dinner I got this really sharp pain in the lower right side of my stomach, right between my belly button and my right hip bone. I couldnt walk or sit down and it hurt to the touch, hurt when I coughed or laughed or even breathed deep. My dinner also went right through me. I thought it was appendix, but a couple days later the pain went away, but what started happening in its place was this pressure which now feels like I have a gas bubble below my right rib cage. It feels like I am hanging from something and there is this weight pulling down my abs and stretching it. It feels like something on the inside is stretching my muscles out and my abs feel like they are getting a good workout. It is hard for me to take a deep breath and I can usually only succeed if I am yawning. The pressure or this stretching feeling is also in my mid to low back as well. There is no pain when I have pressed on my whole stomach, but when I watch myself breathe in the mirror, I have noticed that my ribs start to inflate in an upward motion through half the breath, but then my abdomen/upper stomach right below my breasts then move outward, as if something is blocking the breath from continuing upward into my ribs. There is also a protrusion under my right rib cage, the very last rib bone, that is not on my left side. It does not feel like a mass of any kind, but it is there I think. Right now I am hunched over my laptop with my right knee pulled into my chest and my right side on my back and my abs/stomach feel like its being stretched out like someone is pulling my arms and legs apart like I am a wish bone. That area has been taught since last Thursday I want to say and breathing is hard because I feel like I have to take continuous deep breaths and they aren't really working. It is only on my right side, not left. I have had ovarian cysts before, but know what those feel like and there is no pain in my pelvic region. There is no swelling of my abdomen, I have been looking at it and I do not feel bloated per se like when I have my period. I have had this feeling before usualky right before I have gotten my period and it goes away when my period has started, but I just got over my period and it was weird this time, only lasted for 2 days and did not return like it usually does. I am scared because this pressure feeling is not going away. I have lost some weight, maybe 4 pounds in a week or so, but I have also been eating less as I have noticed I am not feeling as hungry as I usually am. When I eat I do not feel full really, but I have noticed that when I go to the bathroom, there seems to be something blocking me from pushing during a bowel movement and my urinations are coming less frequently when I am used to peeing at least 5-6x a day and getting up in the middle of the night to go, and now I am not. And when I do pee it feels different, like its not flowing like it used to and I cannot seem to push very hard because the pressure them moves to my pelvic region. I also have been noticing recently that after an orgasm my pelvic region feels tight and crampy and as if I have to go to the bathroom.

I know I have written a lot, but I want to get all my symptoms out there so if anyone knows what could be causing this pressure and weird stretching feeling they have all the facts so they can help me. I am really scared of this, so anyone who can help me, please let me know what you think this is.

Thank you.

I had very similar experiences a while back, though not the protrusion of a rib, but it's possible it's your appendix. I never got it checked out, but I have endometriosis and had laser surgery of Feb 1st. While they were in there they noticed that my appendix was caked in endo and was severely inflamed and irritated from it. The doctors removed it because they said it could have burst any time.
I used to always get this popping feeling under my right rib cage though, if I laughed hard or coughed. No idea if it is related or not, but that hasn't happened once since my appendix was removed.
It was never constant pain or continuous strain either, it seemed to flare up and go away, flare up and go away all the time. Some days the pain was unbearable and other days I was fine, I too suspected my appendix years ago when it first started happening, but I shrugged it off because it wasn't constant. I thought appendicitis came and progressively got worse and worse until you were in trouble and it burst. Apparently that's not the case. That's what I thought about appendicitis too until recently. You have to pay attention to those occasional flare ups and detect it early because it could save you a lot of trouble in the long run.
