post disectomy pain

i had an injury sustained working as a spec ed assistant that led to a L5-s1 impact. tried conservative for 9 moths, had 3 injections, and then a disectomy in december '06. went back to work at school 3 weeks after, and then went back to being a waitress 8 weeks after. i had way to much pain to keep waiting tables, my doctor took me off work, and ordered and mri (about 6 month post op). the mri showed there was a "residual or recurrent non enhancing extrudd disc material that is in the lft subarticular zone as well. there is mild narrowing of the left paracentral canal stenosis. and mild narrowing of the left lateral recess due to facet joint arthropathy. right nueral foramen in minimally narrowed due to disc osteopyte. and that the 3mm disc fragment produces mild regional stenosis. what does all this means, and does it relate to the back pain that WILL NOT GO AWAY. my doc forwarded the mri to the surgeon, who thinks the report is no big deal, and i couldnt be causing me any pain, ordered an emg, and nerve conduction, and both tests came out normal. but i still have no answer to what is causing pain in the low back. 9 months down the road now, is it still gonna just take time?
