Numbness & Pain in left arm? Help!
I am a 43 Yr Old F. My health is generally good. Stopped smoking 6 mos ago. I have a lot of itching and pain on my left forearm. No rash. Muscles seems sore as well. I have done nothing to pull or strain. No changes at all in things I do. Left hand "goes to sleep" when I rest my arm for any length of time. Also seems to constantly be numb on my fingertips. Went to family Dr. last week, said maybe shingles w/o rash. I am on meds for that. I take no other meds on a regular basis. Family Dr. says now I may have pinched nerve? I think she is "guessing" and I am not sure what to do. Could this be serious or should I wait a little longer to persue? This has been happening for about 2 weeks now.

maybe you have an Paresthesia. It is abnormal nerve sensations such as tingling, burning, prickling and generally known of having a feeling of "pins and needles" or of a limb being "asleep. you should consult a neurologist. Maybe he/she will request you a diagnostic tool for CT scan.
