New Member: Question For Dr. J "I need help? Neuro problems

Hello,

I have had chronic pain since a bad car accident in 98, and another one in 99. Mostly in my cervical spine. The diagnosis, ((I am not a medical person, so I hope I don't spell all of this stuff wrong.)) Spondalosis, stenosis, DDD, of C3-4-5. Encroachment on of multiple nerves?

Prior to the accident I had a TIA in 97, was unconscious for 32 hours. Could hear everyone, could see my husband smacking me on the face, but I could not talk, or move, or even feel him touching me. They thought I had encephalitis.

Seizures began a year later, non-epileptic. One every year or so until just recently.

Had RFA done 3 weeks ago for severe neck pain, which never leaves my thoughts. C3-C4 and C5. Was having vision prob, pressure behind my eyes, bumping into stuff, and jerking, movements on occasion. (Weird, and embarrassing, I am a college student--34, yr old and feel awkward as it is being an "older" student.

A week ago I began starring off at the floor, the next thing I knew I was jerking, and could not communicate, my speech was coming out wrong. Stuttering they said. I was jerking, and it was hard to breath. At the ER they did a CT and sent me home with a cleared scan.

A few days later, the Hospital sent me a letter about my CT and them finding a small cyst on my pineal gland 1 cm I think? Have no idea if one thing is related to the other. A past EEG showed to be abnormal but nothing conclusive, just a T wave abnormal on the right side I think he said, I have no idea what that was. It must not have been anything, because I was cleared to resume driving again. *shrugging?*

Bright lights hurt my eyes so bad, and I have problems with head pain but I think it is from my neck problems. It is always in the base of my head--the pain. Now I have this intense pressure in the front, and behind my eyes, so weird.

My question: I know you cannot diagnose a person with just symptoms that would be magic, of sorts but I think that my neck problems are mostly the cause of my neuor symptoms? I am not sure about the seizures or this cyst thing. They did a comparison of my last CT and did not see it, so I don't know.

I am just worried. I have been through so much already with the darn pain, I really don't want to worry needlessly. You know.

Also, if you know of a great neck surgeon, please let me know. I need help with my neck injury. Someone out there has got to be able to do something to help rid me of the pain, it is just too much. The back doctors have no idea what a person has to go through with severe pain all day, 7 days a week.

I am trying to finish my degree and finish my book, I feel like just giving up right now. I just don't have the energy to deal with all the health stuff. Anyhelp, advice, link, referal to someone you know that could help me, especially with the pain, the rest is nothing compared to the pain. ((I really think the problem in my neck is affecting other things)) I am an author, this medical stuff makes my head spin.

**I had become dependant on pain meds but have since recovered six years now. I won't go back on heavy pain meds, but the alternative is death. That does not seem like a good alternative, but the pain would go away. **

I am sorry if my post sounds depressed, I am just well depressed, scared and in pain. I want someone to reach out and say, "Hey, I can help you" before it’s too late.

Thank you for any help or words of encouragement you can muster. I just don't know how much more I can handle.

--Be well,
Sincerely,
