Nerve cut during surgery

Hi Doctor, in july I underwent a radical procedure were my inguinal nerve was cut without my prior consent.
I am wondering if it is possible for a neurologist to get back in there and reconnect it? and if so is there any deadline from the surgery for it to remain a posibility?
Thank you.

Dr. Sinuhe has answered your question here:

The inguinal nerve was cut unintentionally? Cut or crushed? What symptoms is the present situation causing? Was an EMG/ENMG done and what did it show? Did you discuss the matter with the doctor who did the operation and what did he say?

It was cut intentionally wich is routine for the particular operation although experienced surgeons try to spare this nerve.
I was not informed that the nerve was going to be cut before the operation therefore I asumed it wouldnt be, and if I was informed I would of found a more experienced or knowledgable surgeon or atleast requested otherwise.

I have not had an EMG/ENMG, I am still awaiting an apointment with another urologist to take off from where I left with my previous one.

The symptom is numbness, very simular to coming off a local anesthetic(I dont get pins and needles from anesthetic), and in one particular area 90% numbness(I can feel a sharp pinch although last month I probly wouldnt of been able to in that area).

During the follow up apointment after I had asked about some discolouration, my former surgeon said he had informed me before the operation that the nerve was going to be cut although I am sure he didnt.
