muscle jerking
What causes muscles to jerk on thier own? I am being looked at for possible Narcolepsy. I have never had this problem until I was prescribed Nortriptyline and now after 3 months (of being off of it) I still have a lot of muscle jerking when I lay down at night or sit or lay down to rest. My muscles jerk, mostly in my extremities uncontrollably. i am awake and try to mentally stop it but it keeps happining about 5-10 mins. Does this have anything to do with Narcolepsy? I also have sleep paralysis at night and muscle weakness during the daytime which Paxil has fixed wonderfully. My facial muscles also draw up and sometimes my arms scruntch inward toward my body and my legs muscles tighten.( reminds me of one of my nursing home patients with serious contractures, but mine goes away) Any ideas would be great.
