Common side effects of levodopa / carbidopa include but are not limited to involuntary movements, muscle jerks, psychiatric disturbances and gastrointestinal effects such as nausea, loss of appetite, etc.
The side effects usually disappear quickly after cessation of the drug.
Levodopa is sometimes prescribed for non-parkinson's patients for various reasons including restless legs syndrome.
