HELP! DOCTORS CANT GET DIAGNOSIS: burning pain the left buttocks and weak left leg
my condition started 9 years ago when my left ankle went numb and it was like a sprain. but my orthopedic and neorologist said it was sciatica. so i got a ct scan and the result is negative. so i lived with the weak left leg and intermittent pain in my lower back. i lived with muscle relaxants and pain relievers.
anyway, a year ago, after 9 years, i experienced very acute burning pain in my left buttock. my left thigh had spasms and my left ankle felt painful. there were no electric like pain. just the feeling that my left leg was bruised and it felt heavy. i walk dragging it. i cant run because the pain my buttock would become very acute. now, it has become chronic. almost everyday. especially when i have my period. or when i stretched during yoga and pilates.
i thought it was sciatica so my neurologist told me to get an mri. because at first check, my left was also hypereflexive. but mri result was negative too. no herniated disc. no impinge never. my neurologist referred me to a medical rehab specialist because she suspected that my condition was muscular.
i also went to the orhtopaedic. and pelvic x-ray was also negative.
with the therapist, i went through 6 sessions of PT, ultrasound heat, traction, and TENs. but the pain was still there. so the medical rehab specialist told me to get an EMG. the EMG test result was also negative. no proximal neuropathy or myopathy. my nerves and muscles are normal.
so i told my doctor, to help me. literally pleaded because the pain is still there. usually, the pain lessens when i put heat pack on my left buttocks.
i wen through an RA test and the result was also negative.
then i went through a transvaginal ultrasound and the result showed that i had severely retroverted uterus.
but that doesnt explain my pain. I AM GETTING VERY DESPERATE. PAIN HAS CHANGED HOW I DEAL WITH PEOPLE IN WORK. i have become sedentary. immobile. i am often depressed.
i don't know what to do. i have spent so much money on tests that didn't give me answers to manage my pain. im a dancer and my legs are very important to me.
but coming from a third-world asian country, it isn't advisable to spend so much on healthcare especailly if its expensive.
