Feeling of fullness and tenderness left side
Hello. I am new here. Hopefully someone can shed some light on what I have been experiencing. For quite a while now ( almost a year I would say) I have been having feelings of fullness and tenderness on my left side. This is in the abdomen area..I would describe it as under my ribs. It has come and gone in the past, but lately it seems to be more and more frequent. I don't feel very hungry a lot of times. My side in that area is sensitive to touch. It feels like something is poking up under my ribs? I don't know how to describe it. I am female, just turned 36 and have a history of stomach and digestive problems. I do not drink alcohol. I have a lot of stress in my life and tend to be over emotional. I do NOT have insurance, and we really don't have the money for me to see a DR. and have a bunch of tests ran, but if I HAD to I guess there is the credit card. Can anyone tell me what this MIGHT be? IS it serious..where I should charge up the card and see a DR> or might I just need some Zantac or something? Help!

I would recommend that you get to a doctor -- preferably a GI -- immediately. If you have a fever, you need to go to the hospital. You may have diverticulitis, colitis or another treatable condition that -- if it goes untreated -- could put you in the hospital with much higher bills than just a doctor's visit. I understand your concerns; I also don't have insurance and have been struggling for the past month with pain on my left side. I've been on several antibiotics. I have had to spend a lot of my own money (including a hospitalization) but I know it's worth it because I could have gotten severely ill otherwise. Please see a doctor and also look into getting individual insurance.
