colitis or not

Hello, I am a 40 year old female. I was diagnosed with U/C about 15 years ago and went into remission in 2000 when I moved. My standard of living and diet changed at this time. Then in aug 2003 I had my 1st child and my diet changed again. A few months later I started to have another flare up and went back onto to steroids, although this did not seam to help much. In sept 2005 I had My 2nd child and whilst I was pregnant I had no symptoms but after they came back. Steroids did not seam to work and I gradually got worse. In June 2006 I was admitted to hospital to have steroids intravenous for 3 days but ended up their for 8 weeks. My consultant could not understand why the treatment was not working and was not sure if I had U/C or crones. When I came out I got worse again and have bean on steroids since. On Friday he said he wanted me to go on AZATHIOPRINE to have a break from the steroids.
My partner has done some research on the net and found that the mesalazine could be a problem as it can course leaky gut which would have the same symptoms as U/C. He also found the food allergy could be a problem. I have found certain foods make me run to the toilet and have found tea and coffee are worse as I only have to have a sip of tea and I have to go.

All my symptoms are: sinus headaches, difficulty sleeping, circles under eyes, bad breath, nausea and vomiting, diarhea, loose stools, muscle and joint pain, muscle weakness, fatigue, attention deficit, anxiety, panic reactions, depression, mental dullness, memory lapses, mood swings and irritability, anger outbursts and difficulty thinking.
Sometimes I have a red face and sore nose (if aerosol is use), rapid heart beats, acne and sugar cravings.

Am I being treated for the correct ailment or have I got more than one problem.
Please help.
