Chemical Imbalance
I was wondering what could be the causes of a chemical imbalance in which a person produces too much adrenaline and testosterone. My friend said they were tested for this 6 months ago and that there was something that happened/he did that caused this. He also said that because of this chemical imbalance he does certain things. He said it was not steroids, and that it wasn't anything bad. What might have caused this imbalance? And is there anything specific that people do, an activity when people have it?
Answers:
Hello,Chemical imbalance is a lay term used in explaining many mental disorders, depression , anxiety disorders , bipolar disorders etc. If we knew the answer as to why some peoples neurotransmitters in the brain produced more or less then others we would be much further along in treating all of the mental disorders. As to your friend causing this i simply don't think so or know as I'm not a Dr.
I do seem to think its important to remember that its not a flaw in character but a flaw in chemistry. Most treatment of these disorders is by medication and even behavior therapy. Also as with any mental disorders treatment is needed and if meds are prescribed the pt. must take them ongoing, if not followed could lead to sometimes undesirable behaviors and a lower quality of life.
You may search the net for chemcial imbalance and find much regarding and the current medications for such. Its really best to let his Dr. prescribe what he feels your friend needs as treatment and all the more important for your friend to follow his Dr.'s regimen.
Good Luck
