Skull question

Hi Dr. Joshua...

I have been having symptoms such as twitching in various places, a little tingling in various places and a weird heat feeling in my feet even though they don't feel hot to the touch. I've also had internal trembling and a couple of experiences when my hands and legs tremble. I have no pain or muscle weakness, and basically I feel good. The symptoms are more annoying than anything else. I went to the Dr. who thinks it's anxiety, which I do have a history of, and now that I'm 43, this might be linked to perimenopause, but I am still having regular periods. All my blood work came back normal. I recently noticed that one side of my head towards the front has a larger bump than the other side in the same place. It feels like bone, and it may have been there for a while. Is this normal? Can your skull vary from side to side? I don't usually get headaches or anything, although I did experience a few weeks of dizziness which I thought was due to the heavy stress I was under at the time. I am mainly concerned because I'm not sure if this head thing is normal, or has something to do with the other symptoms. Also, I sometimes get floaters (but my vision is fine) and ringing in the ears. Mr Dr. does not think it's MS or any other serious neurological issue, but the discovery of this skull thing has me concerned.
Thanks so much for your time and input.

from concussion to more serious injuries

Dear Doctor,

Less than a month ago, I hit my head hard twice in the same day and suffered a concussion. Yesterday I hit my head again, not as hard as the first two but in the same spot, more or less. Later that day I had headaches similar to what I experienced then. They were very fleeting aches, gone in a heartbeat. I'm worried that I might not have recovered yet from the concussion when I hit my head yesterday and that that could lead to more serious brain injuries. How likely to happen are my worries? How long does it take for a concussion to heal?

fibromyalgia

ok heres the deal I have a very good friend that has a laundry list of things that are wrong with her including depression diabetes
and the one that tops the list is fibromyalgia for those of you that don't know what FMS is check out[LINK REMOVED]for a minute heres my question my friend was once on herion for some time (shes clean now thank god) and if you don't know herion works on the endorphins in the brain basically shutting down the part of the brain that makes endorphins...FMS we think is an imbalance of serotonin and norepinephrine my idea is that there is a link between her herion useage and the imbalance of those chemicals ANY IDEAS?! or does any one know if there has been research done on this before.

Thanks to all that answer

New Member -Cervical Stenosis and MRI questions

I am 31 years old and went to the doctors for headaches, dizziness and arm pain. The MRI stated this:

* Chiari 1 Malformation 8.5mm on left and 4.5mm on right (have had a CINE flow test and there is no blockage of the spinal fluid)

* There is a straightening of the cervice spine

* At C3-4 there is a left posterolateral osteophyte with accompanying disc resulting in moderate left neuroforminal stenosis.

* At C5-6 small uncovertebral ostephytes with a minimal disc bulge.

* At C6-7 tiny uncovertebral osteophytes.

*also my neurological exam showed hyperflexia in my legs and jaw- but everything else was ok

My neurologist told me when the results came in "good news everything is fine"- he didnt offer therapy or anything.. only after I put up a fight telling him its not ok and my arm pain gets worse by the day did he offer to give me an EMG. Ive read some information about this so I understand that this is bone spurs caused from disc degeneration but I dont understand how it happens to someone my age. I havent been thru any type of trama before this (although I did get into a car accident in the middle of all these Dr.s apt- which seems to have exculated things)
but my questions are this-
*Could the Chiari be causing the problems in my neck since the whole problem with chiari is that there is no room- hence pushing on my spine?
*What is the EMG for since my MRI already shows stenosis?
* If Im already having arm pain on a daily basis is the nerve already damaged or can it be stopped before then with therapy?
*Is all this "no big deal" or should I get a second opinion?

Also my shoulder is numb and has been for long a while, I didnt put it together with all this until the MRI results, but its not painful, just annoying. But the wierd thing is my neck does not hurt....At one point about 2 weeks ago i was reading something online about when to seek medical attention and one of the things was if you cant touch your chin to your chest and of course like an idiot I tried and the pain shot from the middle of my head, down my neck to the lower part of my back and down both arms.. that lasted about 2 days and is all gone now, Im back to just the arm pain, headaches and dizziness.. Any help or advise would be appreciated.
